Reason For Staying

This state park is located about 15 minutes away from Holiday Beach. Originally we stopped here to dump only. However, the day we were getting ready to depart Holiday Beach, our generator wouldn’t start. We didn’t want to risk driving too far without getting it checked out. This place has water and an electric hookup, so we were able to make sure everything was okay with the generator before heading out to our next stop. Our assumption is it had gotten sand in the tank after spending a week on a windy beach.

While we were here, we decided to ride our bikes along the ocean. A decent stretch of beach and a few shaded picnic table shelters are set up along the shoreline.

Site Details

The picnic tables are this place are shared by two spots. It’s a bit lame because only one of the spots gets to have its awning face the tables. We stayed in spot 29, and our awning didn’t face the tables.

The bathhouses here are pretty large, and there are a decent amount of showers. Unfortunately, if you’re trying to shower on a cool day, don’t expect to get warmed up. The water is heated, but with all of that circulating air, it’s pretty hard to feel warm.

Tip:

Try and pick a spot that’s set up, so your awning faces a picnic table.
