Harvest Host

Harvest Host is another app we use while traveling where businesses open their parking lots to RVers for a night in exchange for a $30 purchase at their company. Wineries are some of our favorite spots to stay with Harvest Host. It’s a great way to try local food and beverages in exchange for a place to stay.

We knew we wanted to hang out there for a few days as soon as we showed up to Keel and Curley. Their overflow parking lot was a big open grass field a little ways off the road. They were gracious enough to allow us to stay for three nights. Giving us a chance to settle down, do some morning workouts, and relax.

The winery itself had an incredibly cool setup. They had a large plot of land with a pond, plenty of outdoor seating, a goat pen, a chicken run, and large pastures where they grow their own fruit for their wines. They also host trivia a couple of times a week, so be sure to check that out if you can.

Food & Drink

Overall we really enjoyed their food and drink selection. A lot of their wines are on the sweeter side, which is right up my alley. Below are a few of the items we indulged in:

Sangria – I tried their Blue Berry Sangria, Raspberry Peach Sangria, regular Sangria, and Blackberry Wine. Overall, I was very impressed with their selection. I rated them 9/10 collectively for their flavor and weight. I ended up getting a bottle of Raspberry Peach Sangria.

California Flatbread is absolutely delicious. The dough was so good, and fresh squeezed lemon on top gave it a unique flavor.

Shrimp Tacos – These had a very good flavor, but you only get three pieces of shrimp on each of the two tacos. 😑 Definitely overpriced for what you get.

Wine Burger – Personally, this was not a good burger to me. It almost tasted like it had a gamey flavor that I wasn’t expecting. The fries were phenomenal, though.

Taco Madre  //  Right down the road was a taco stand where we tried steak, barbacoa, and al pastor. Al pastor and barbaco were fantastic. 7/10.

Tip:

Dinosaur world is literally 5 minutes away. We were slightly disappointed we didn’t venture over that way.
