A birthday Celebration Spent with Fine Wine & Cows

Our next stop on the way to Big Bend National Park was a small-batch winery in Seguin, Texas. It was Michael’s birthday today, and we had a peaceful evening with a scenic sunset and flavorful wine. There was also a precious little cow family with a 3-week-old calf that we got to watch run around his parents.

Windmill Farms Winery offers a charcuterie board and other small snacks to choose from. There was also a pizza food truck on site. We ordered a pie to try it out, but unfortunately, it fell flat compared to the amazing pizza we had the night before at Cajun Saucer.

About the Windmill Farms Winery

You can enjoy hand-crafted wines made in their 100-year-old barn-turned-winery on 5 acres of farmland. They have a great selection of sweet and fruity to rich and dry. Along with wine tastings and full bottles of wine for purchase, they also offer a make-your-own “batch” of wine, complete with a personalized wine label. All of their wines are low-sulfite and low-histamine, and without the heavy preservatives found in other wines, no more wine headaches!

Our Favorites

1902 Custom Blend – This was a delicious, rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Zinfandel.

Barbarossa Berry – Out of all the Sangrias I tried, Barbarossa came out on top with a tangy, sweet blueberry flavor.
